Чего не знала? Что своими словами оскорбляет группу женщин (которые ей ровно ничего не сделали и отношения к ней не имеют) сразу по нескольким признакам, включая расовый? Это талант.
О нет, она не знала о том, что с кормлением все так плохо. Ей казалось, что женщины просто так агрессивно себя ведут. В целом, она попросила прощения за эти слова.
В университетских кругах и академической литературе принято так писать о белых женщинах среднего класса и выше. Я когда-то тоже высказалась против этого на каком-то симпозиуме. У них так принято. Она такая же женщина, т.е. она как бы говорит о себе в том числе.
Она хотела публично, я сказала, что ей сейчас надо заботиться о себе с ребенком, а попросить прощение она потом успеет. На нее так навалились, что я думаю, мы передышим ее фо па.:)
I have specifically tried to distance myself from lactivism, which has always seemed hopelessly bourgeois to me- those marauding bands of lactating white women who go to collectively feed their babies in places where the right to breastfeed has been called into question. I don’t hold a rigid view on whether breastfeeding is better than bottle feeding. Sure, there are health benefits, but there are also plenty of legitimate reasons why a parent may not want or be able to breastfeed. And the whole argument about the breast being more “natural” than the bottle leads down a slippery slope of biological determinism, in which (as anthropologist Sherry Ortner once famously posited) woman is to nature as man is to culture.
Ну каждый живет как умеет. Мне во всей этой истории понравилось, что она специально прилагает МНОГО усилий для разделения частной и профессиональной жизни. И тут ей так завалили.:)
